What is the difference between screen printing and DTF?

Screen printing is a traditional method that pushes ink through a mesh screen directly onto fabric. Because it requires extensive manual setup, restricts the number of colors you can use, and is rarely cost-effective anymore, we do not recommend it for most projects.

Instead, DTF (direct-to-film) printing is our preferred method for almost all printed apparel. DTF transfers a vibrant, full-color printed film onto the garment using heat. It has zero setup fees, handles highly complex or photographic artwork flawlessly, and is incredibly durable. Whether you need a single piece or a bulk order for an entire organization, DTF provides a better, more economical result without any of the old limitations of screen printing.

What is embroidery, and when should I use it?

Embroidery stitches your design directly into the fabric using thread, creating a textured, premium look. It is the preferred decoration method for corporate uniforms, polo shirts, hats, jackets, and workwear where a professional appearance is essential. Embroidery is durable, washable, and gives a high-end feel that printed methods cannot replicate. No minimum order is required.

Yes! At Accent Logos, we can print using water-based and discharge inks, which are more eco-friendly than standard plastisol inks. These options produce a softer feel and have a lower environmental impact. They are not our default, so please let us know when placing your order if you would like to use them.

How should I care for my custom apparel?

To keep your custom items looking their best:

• For Screen Prints & DTF Prints: Wash inside out in cold water on a gentle cycle. Avoid bleach or harsh detergents. Hang to dry or tumble dry on low heat (high heat can damage prints). Do not iron directly on the print.
• For Embroidery: Wash in cold water on a gentle cycle. Air dry when possible, or tumble dry on low. Avoid high heat and bleach. If ironing is needed, use a low heat setting and place a pressing cloth over the embroidery.

Is there a minimum order quantity (MOQ)?

Most of our decorated apparel products do not have a minimum order quantity. Exceptions include:

• Specialty / Supplier-Specific Blanks: Certain union-made products may require minimum order runs—ask us for specifics on your chosen brand.
• Promotional Items: Larger branded gifts can often start at 1 piece, but smaller giveaways or bulk items typically carry an MOQ between 12 and 100 units.
• Custom Patches, Woven Labels & Stickers: These generally carry a minimum order quantity of 100 pieces.

How does webstore fulfillment work?

• For Standard Stores: We collect individual orders during your store's open ordering window. Once the store closes, we produce all garments in bulk and ship/distribute them together.
• For Year-Round Stores: We produce and ship items on an ongoing basis as orders roll in.

Can I sell promotional items in my webstore?

Yes, but because promotional items (like water bottles, mugs, or notebooks) carry minimum order quantities from suppliers, they usually need to be ordered in advance and stocked for your webstore. We can help you plan and budget for these items.
